Pirelli P Zero, Cinturato, Scorpion and Powergy tyres supplied and fitted in Knoxfield. Free tyre check, Hunter alignment, 606+ five-star reviews. Call (03) 9763 0100.

Pirelli is the tyre a lot of performance and European cars leave the factory on: P Zero on AMG, M, RS and Porsche models, Cinturato on the everyday Mercedes and Audi, Scorpion on the SUVs. Owners replacing them usually want the same tyre, or the same grip at a fairer price. We can supply and fit the Pirelli range at our Knoxfield workshop, including the OE-marked and run-flat versions, balanced on the Hunter SmartWeight Pro and aligned on the Hunter HawkEye Elite. Free tyre check first.

The Pirelli range and who each tyre suits

  • P Zero. The performance tyre, and Pirelli's best known. The current P Zero (PZ4) is original fitment on a long list of German, Italian and British performance cars, and the P Zero Corsa sits above it for track days. Sharp steering, strong dry grip, and a ride that's firmer than a touring tyre.
  • Cinturato P7. The touring tyre. Quiet, economical and good in the wet on a C-Class, A4, Golf or 3 Series that isn't the sports model. The current P7 (C2) is a clear step up from the original P7 many cars came on.
  • Powergy. Pirelli's mid-priced touring and performance tyre. Brings the Pirelli name to a Mazda3, i30 or Corolla at a price closer to the Korean brands.
  • Scorpion. The SUV and 4WD family: Scorpion Verde and Scorpion (the current all-season) for a Q5, GLC, X3, Macan or Range Rover; Scorpion AT Plus for a 4WD that sees gravel.
  • Elect. The EV marking, applied to P Zero and Scorpion patterns built for electric cars: Tesla, Polestar, Taycan, BMW iX.
  • Run-flats. R-F and RSC versions of the P Zero and Cinturato, original fitment on many BMW and Mini models.

Pirelli questions we get asked most

Do I need the MO, star or N version? Those letters mean the tyre was built to a Mercedes, BMW or Porsche specification. They cost more. On a car still under warranty it's worth matching; on an older car the standard tyre of the same pattern is fine and usually cheaper. We'll tell you which applies to yours.

P Zero or Cinturato? If the car is the sports version and you enjoy driving it, P Zero. If it's the everyday version and you want it quiet and long-wearing, Cinturato P7. The wrong choice either way is a tyre that's too harsh or too soft for the car.

Run-flat or conventional? Run-flats get you home after a puncture but ride harder and cost more. Conventional tyres ride softer and cost less, but you'll want a repair kit or a spare. Both are fine once you know what you're giving up.

Common Pirelli picks we fit

Typical matches, confirmed against the size on your sidewall:

  • Mercedes-AMG, BMW M, Audi RS, Porsche 911, Macan and Cayenne: P Zero in the MO, star or N marking the car came on.
  • Golf GTI and R, Mustang, WRX, Giulia, Stelvio: P Zero or P Zero Corsa.
  • C-Class, E-Class, A4, A6, 3 Series, 5 Series: Cinturato P7, or the run-flat version for a BMW that came on them.
  • Q5, GLC, X3, X5, Range Rover Evoque and Sport: Scorpion Verde or Scorpion.
  • Tesla Model 3 and Y, Polestar 2, Taycan, iX: P Zero Elect or Scorpion Elect.
  • Mazda3, i30, Corolla, Civic owners after a quieter tyre: Powergy or Cinturato P7.

What Pirelli tyres cost

Pirelli sits at the top of the price range alongside Michelin and Continental. A P Zero in an 18-inch performance size is typically $350 to $450 a tyre, more for an OE-marked version; a Cinturato P7 in a common 17-inch size is in the mid to high $200s; Powergy is well below both. Our guide to what new tyres cost in Melbourne covers the ranges by brand and size. For your car, call with the size and we'll quote a fitted price.

Fitting, balancing and alignment in one visit

Performance tyres show up a careless fit faster than any other kind. Every Pirelli we fit is balanced on the Hunter SmartWeight Pro and the wheel alignment is set on the Hunter HawkEye Elite, the same equipment the dealers use. If the car needs a logbook service or brakes, one booking covers it.

Frequently asked questions

P Zero for a performance car, hot hatch or anything with an AMG, M or RS badge; Cinturato P7 for a quiet, economical touring tyre on a sedan or hatch; Scorpion for an SUV or 4WD; Powergy where you want the Pirelli name at a mid-range price. Tell us the car and we'll narrow it down.

A P Zero in an 18-inch performance size is usually $350 to $450 each, more with an MO, star or N marking; a Cinturato P7 in a common 17-inch size sits in the mid to high $200s; Powergy is well under that. Size and marking move the price more than anything, so call with the size on your sidewall for a fitted quote.

Pirelli is original fitment on a lot of German and Italian cars, and the tyre carries a code for it: MO for Mercedes, star for BMW, N for Porsche, AR for Alfa. On a newer car under warranty it's worth matching. On an older car the standard version of the same tyre is fine and usually cheaper. We'll tell you which applies.

Yes. Pirelli's run-flats carry the R-F or RSC marking and are original equipment on many BMW and Mini models. We can supply them, and we'll explain what moving to conventional tyres would change before you decide.

Pirelli's EV tyres carry the Elect marking: lower rolling resistance, quieter, and built for the weight. The P Zero Elect is original fitment on several Teslas, Polestars and the Porsche Taycan; the Scorpion Elect covers electric SUVs.

A Cinturato on a family car will usually see 50,000 km or more. A P Zero on a car that's driven the way it was designed to be driven will be a lot less, and that's the trade for the grip. Pressures and a rotation every 10,000 km matter more than the brand.

The Cinturato P7 and Powergy are good value on a Mazda, Toyota or Hyundai if you want a quieter tyre than the original. The P Zero is wasted on a car that never gets driven hard. We'll show you a Pirelli price next to a mid-priced alternative.
