Bridgestone is one of the most common original-fit tyres on cars sold in Australia: Turanza on family sedans and SUVs, Ecopia on fuel-focused hatches, Potenza on performance cars, and Dueler on 4WDs and utes. Most drivers replacing them want a like-for-like tyre or a quieter, longer-wearing alternative. The Bridgestone range and who each tyre suits
- Turanza. The touring tyre. Quiet, comfortable and long-wearing on a Camry, Mazda6, CX-5, RAV4 or a European sedan. If your car came on Turanza from the factory, this is the like-for-like replacement.
- Potenza. The performance line. Potenza Sport for a Golf GTI, WRX, BMW M or a hot hatch that gets driven properly; Potenza Adrenalin for sharper handling at a lower price.
- Ecopia. Low rolling resistance for small cars and hybrids that mostly commute. Fuel economy first, with respectable wear.
- Dueler. The 4WD, ute and large-SUV family. Dueler H/T and H/P for a Prado, Everest or Kluger that stays on the bitumen; Dueler A/T for a HiLux, Ranger or LandCruiser that sees gravel and the High Country.
- Alenza. Bridgestone's dedicated SUV touring tyre for the larger family wagons.
- Run-flats. Bridgestone RFT is original fitment on many BMW and Mini models. We stock or source them.
Bridgestone was original equipment on a lot of the cars in Melbourne's outer east, and often the right answer is to fit the same tyre again. Sometimes the current Turanza is a step up from what the car left the factory on. Either way you get a straight recommendation with two prices, not a catalogue.
Bridgestone questions we get asked most
Like for like, or something different? If the car was quiet and rode well on its original Bridgestones, stay with them. If the originals were noisy or wore quickly, tell us; there may be a better Bridgestone pattern or a different brand at the same price.
Run-flat or conventional? BMW and Mini owners ask this every week. Run-flats let you keep driving after a puncture but ride harder and cost more. We'll explain what changing over means for your car before you decide.
Highway or all-terrain on the 4WD? If it does the school run five days a week and the beach twice a year, the highway-biased Dueler is quieter and lasts longer. If it genuinely goes bush, the A/T earns its keep.
