Kumho is the mid-range tyre a lot of Hyundai, Kia and SsangYong owners already have on the car, and a sensible step up for anyone replacing a budget tyre. You get a quiet, well-made Korean tyre at a price well under Michelin, Bridgestone or Continental. We can supply and fit the Kumho range at our Knoxfield workshop, balanced on the Hunter SmartWeight Pro and aligned on the Hunter HawkEye Elite. Free tyre check first.

The Kumho range and who each tyre suits
- Ecsta PS71. Kumho's performance touring tyre and the one we fit most. Sharp enough for a Golf, i30 N Line or Mazda3, quiet enough for daily use, and available in a wide run of 16 to 19 inch sizes. The PS71 SUV version covers a CX-5, Tucson or Sportage.
- Ecsta HS52. The touring tyre that replaced the HS51. Quieter and longer-wearing than the PS71, for a Corolla, i30, Cerato or Camry that just needs a good everyday tyre.
- Solus. Kumho's comfort and economy line (Solus KH27, Solus TA31) for small cars and city driving.
- Crugen HP71 and HT51. The SUV family. HP71 for a road-going Santa Fe, Sorento, Kluger or RAV4; HT51 for a highway-biased tyre on a Prado or Everest.
- Road Venture AT52 and MT71. The 4WD tyres. AT52 is the all-terrain for a HiLux, Ranger or Triton that does gravel and the occasional beach; MT71 is the mud tyre for one that genuinely goes bush.
- Portran KC53. The van tyre for a HiAce, Transit or iLoad.
Kumho questions we get asked most
Kumho or Hankook? They're close. Both are Korean, both are original fitment on Hyundai and Kia, both sit at the same price. Pattern availability in your size usually decides it, and we'll quote both.
Is it worth spending more? If the car does high kilometres or you drive it hard, a Michelin or Continental will last longer and grip better in the wet. For a second car, a learner's car or a family wagon that does the school run, Kumho is often the better value and we'll say so.
Ecsta or Solus? Ecsta for handling, Solus for quiet and economy. On most family cars the Ecsta HS52 is the best of both.

What Kumho tyres cost
Kumho sits in the mid-range. The Ecsta PS71 in the common 205/55R16 size is around $160 to $220 a tyre at Melbourne retailers, and most hatch and sedan sizes land in that band; SUV and 4WD sizes run higher. Our guide to what new tyres cost in Melbourne sets the brands side by side. For your car, call with the size and we'll quote a fitted price.
Fitting, balancing and alignment in one visit
Every Kumho we fit is balanced on the Hunter SmartWeight Pro and the wheel alignment is set on the Hunter HawkEye Elite. A mid-priced tyre fitted and aligned properly will outlast an expensive one fitted badly. Need a logbook service or brakes at the same time? One booking covers it.
