Continental is original equipment on a lot of European cars sold in Australia: PremiumContact and EcoContact on VW, Audi, Mercedes and BMW, SportContact on the performance models. Owners replacing them usually want the same tyre or something equally quiet and good in the wet. We can supply and fit the Continental range, balance on the Hunter SmartWeight Pro and align on the Hunter Hawkeye Elite. Free tyre check first.

The Continental range and who each tyre suits
- PremiumContact. The touring tyre most European sedans and hatches leave the factory on. Quiet, strong in the wet, comfortable. The like-for-like choice for a Golf, A4, C-Class or 3 Series.
- UltraContact. A step below PremiumContact in price with a long-wearing focus. Good value on a Japanese or Korean car too.
- SportContact. The performance line. SportContact 7 is the current tyre for a Golf R, RS Audi, AMG Mercedes or BMW M; SportContact 5 is still original fitment on many cars with MO, star or AO markings.
- EcoContact. Low rolling resistance for small cars, hybrids and EVs that mostly commute.
- CrossContact. SUV and 4WD tyres, from the highway-biased CrossContact LX for a Q5, GLC or X3 to the all-terrain patterns.
- SSR run-flats. Original fitment on many BMW and Mini models. We stock or source them and fit them on rim-safe changers.
Continental questions we get asked most
What do MO, star and AO mean, and do I need them? They mark a tyre built to Mercedes-Benz, BMW/Mini or Audi specification. On a newer car under warranty it's worth matching; on an older car the standard version of the same tyre is fine and usually cheaper. We'll tell you which applies.
Is Continental worth it on a non-European car? Often yes. The UltraContact and PremiumContact are popular replacements on a Mazda, Toyota or Hyundai for owners who want a quieter tyre than the original. We'll give you a Continental price and a mid-priced alternative side by side.
Run-flat or conventional? BMW and Mini owners ask this constantly. Run-flats get you home after a puncture; conventional tyres ride softer and cost less. Both are fine choices once you know what you're giving up.

Common Continental picks we fit
Typical matches, confirmed against the size on your sidewall:
- VW Golf, Polo, Tiguan, Skoda Octavia, Audi A3: PremiumContact, or UltraContact for a lower price with long wear.
- Mercedes-Benz C, E and GLC: PremiumContact with the MO marking on newer cars.
- BMW 1, 3 and 5 Series, X1, X3, Mini: PremiumContact or SportContact, in the SSR run-flat version if the car came on it.
- Audi A4, A5, Q5: PremiumContact or CrossContact LX Sport with the AO marking.
- Golf R, S and RS Audi, AMG, BMW M: SportContact 7.
- Hybrids and EVs (Corolla Hybrid, Tesla Model 3, BYD Atto 3): EcoContact, which is quiet and low on rolling resistance.
- Mazda, Toyota, Hyundai and Kia owners after a quieter tyre: UltraContact.
Fitting, balancing and alignment in one visit
European cars are fussy about balance and alignment, and a good tyre fitted carelessly still feels wrong. Every Continental we fit is balanced on the Hunter SmartWeight Pro and the wheel alignment is set on the Hunter Hawkeye Elite, the same equipment the dealers use. Need a logbook service or brakes at the same time? One booking covers it.
