The Falken range and who each tyre suits
- Azenis FK520. The performance tyre, and the one enthusiasts ask for: strong dry and wet grip on a Golf GTI, WRX, 86, i30 N, Mustang or 3 Series at a price well under the top European brands. The FK520 SUV covers a performance SUV.
- Ziex ZE310 Ecorun. The everyday tyre: a balance of grip, quiet and economy for a Corolla, Mazda3, i30, Camry or CX-5. The ZE914 is the older pattern, still around in some sizes.
- Sincera SN832 Ecorun. The economy tyre for a Yaris, Swift, Jazz or Picanto where price and fuel economy come first.
- Wildpeak A/T4W. The all-terrain for a HiLux, Ranger, Triton, Navara, LandCruiser or Patrol that does gravel, sand and towing as well as the daily drive. Wildpeak A/T Trail covers a soft-roader SUV like a RAV4 or Forester.
- Wildpeak R/T and M/T. Rugged-terrain and mud-terrain for a 4WD that goes bush most weekends.
- Wildpeak H/T and Ziex CT/S. Highway SUV tyres for a Prado, Everest or Kluger that stays on sealed roads.
- Linam Van01. The van and light commercial tyre for a HiAce, Transit or iLoad.
Falken questions we get asked most
Wildpeak A/T4W or R/T? The A/T4W is quieter on the highway and better in the wet, and it suits a ute that spends most of its life on sealed roads. The R/T has more off-road bite and a tougher sidewall but hums on the bitumen. Be honest about how often the vehicle leaves the sealed road.
Azenis or Ziex? If the car is the sports version and you drive it that way, the Azenis FK520. If you want it quiet and long-wearing, the Ziex. Fitting an Azenis to a car that never gets pushed just means replacing it sooner.
Is Falken worth it over a Korean brand? On the everyday side they're close. On the performance side the Azenis is a step up from most mid-range tyres in the dry, and on a 4WD the Wildpeak A/T4W is a step up for toughness and wear. That's where Falken earns its name.

What Falken tyres cost
Falken sits in the mid-range with Kumho, Hankook and Toyo. A Ziex in a common 16 or 17-inch size is usually $150 to $220 a tyre at Melbourne retailers; the Azenis FK520 runs from the mid $200s up in 18 and 19 inch; Wildpeak 4WD sizes land between $230 and $380 depending on the pattern. Every Falken we fit is balanced on the Hunter SmartWeight Pro and the wheel alignment is set on the Hunter HawkEye Elite.
