Nexen is the third Korean brand after Kumho and Hankook and usually the cheapest of the three, which makes it the tyre we suggest when someone wants a proper original-equipment brand on a tight budget. It's factory fitment on a surprising list of Volkswagen, Skoda, Hyundai and Kia models. We can supply and fit the Nexen range at our Knoxfield workshop, balanced on the Hunter SmartWeight Pro and aligned on the Hunter HawkEye Elite. Free tyre check first.

The Nexen range and who each tyre suits
- N'Fera Sport and N'Fera Sport SUV. The performance tyres, original fitment on several Porsche, VW and Skoda models. A good-value choice for a Golf GTI, i30 N Line or an Octavia RS.
- N'Fera SU1 and N'Fera SU4. The sporty everyday tyres for a Golf, Mazda3, i30 or Cerato that you want to steer well without paying for a performance tyre.
- N'Priz AH8 and N'Priz RH7. The touring tyres: quiet, long-wearing, often the original fitment on a Hyundai or Kia sedan or SUV.
- N'Blue HD Plus and N'Blue 4Season. The economy tyres for a Yaris, Swift, Picanto, Accent or Rio where price and fuel economy come first.
- Roadian HTX RH5 and Roadian HP. The SUV tyres for a Tucson, Santa Fe, Sportage, Sorento, RAV4 or Kluger that stays on sealed roads.
- Roadian AT and Roadian MTX. The 4WD tyres: AT for a HiLux, Ranger or Triton that does gravel; MTX for one that goes bush.
- Roadian CT8. The van and light commercial tyre for a HiAce, Transit or iLoad.
Nexen questions we get asked most
Nexen or Kumho? Kumho has the slight edge in wet grip and pattern choice and costs a little more. In a common size the difference is often $20 a tyre, and the price in your size usually decides it. We quote both.
Is Nexen fine on a European car? On a VW, Skoda or SEAT that came on Nexen, yes, and the OE version is the like-for-like replacement. On a BMW or Mercedes we'd usually suggest a brand with the star or MO marking the car was set up for.
Where's the catch? Nexen trades a little wet grip and tyre life against the Japanese and European brands for a noticeably lower price. For a second car, a learner's car or a family hatch doing suburban kilometres, that's a good trade. For a car that does high kilometres or gets driven hard, spend more.

What Nexen tyres cost
Nexen sits at the value end of the original-equipment brands. An N'Blue or N'Fera in a common 16 or 17-inch size is usually $130 to $200 a tyre at Melbourne retailers, with Roadian SUV and 4WD sizes running higher. Our guide to what new tyres cost in Melbourne sets the brands side by side. For your car, call with the size and we'll quote a fitted price.
