Yokohama is the Japanese brand with the quietest touring tyre on the market in the Advan dB, a serious performance line in the Advan Sport, and a 4WD range in the Geolandar that a lot of Victorian High Country regulars swear by. We can supply and fit the Yokohama range at our Knoxfield workshop, balanced on the Hunter SmartWeight Pro and aligned on the Hunter HawkEye Elite. Free tyre check first.

The Yokohama range and who each tyre suits
- Advan dB. The quiet one. The current Advan dB V553 is built around low cabin noise and comfort, and it's the tyre we suggest when a Lexus, Camry, Mazda6 or Accord owner says the car has got noisy. Also a good match for an EV, where there's no engine to mask tyre roar.
- Advan Sport V107 and V105. The performance tyres. Original fitment on several Porsche, Mercedes and Audi models in the N, MO and AO markings, and a strong choice for a Golf R, WRX or 3 Series.
- Advan Fleva V701. The sporty everyday tyre for a hot hatch or a sedan driven with some enthusiasm, at a lower price than the Advan Sport.
- BluEarth-GT AE51 and BluEarth-ES. The touring and economy tyres. BluEarth-GT for a Corolla, Mazda3, i30 or CX-5 that needs a good all-rounder; BluEarth-ES for a small car where economy and price come first.
- Geolandar. The SUV and 4WD family: CV G058 and H/T G056 for road use, A/T G015 for all-terrain, X-AT G016 and M/T G003 for serious off-road.
- BluEarth-Van. The light commercial tyre for a HiAce or Transit.
Yokohama questions we get asked most
Advan dB or a Michelin Primacy? Both are quiet, long-wearing touring tyres. The Advan dB is usually a little cheaper and a little quieter; the Primacy edges it in wet braking. On a car that's mostly suburban, the dB is hard to beat.
Which Geolandar for a ute that does both? If it's the school run five days a week and the beach or a fire trail a few times a year, the A/T G015 does both without the noise and wear of a mud tyre. If it genuinely goes bush every weekend, the X-AT or M/T.
BluEarth-GT or Advan Fleva? BluEarth-GT for quiet and economy; Fleva for a bit more steering feel. On a family hatch the BluEarth-GT is the sensible pick.

What Yokohama tyres cost
Yokohama sits in the upper mid-range, below Michelin and Continental and alongside Bridgestone and Dunlop. A BluEarth-GT in a common 16-inch size is usually $180 to $240 a tyre at Melbourne retailers, the Advan dB and Advan Sport run from the mid $200s up in 17 to 19 inch, and Geolandar 4WD sizes land between $250 and $400 depending on the pattern. Our guide to what new tyres cost in Melbourne sets the brands side by side. For your car, call with the size and we'll quote a fitted price.
