What a BYD needs from a workshop
Tyres and alignment, sooner than you'd think. We fit a lot of BYD tyres. The Atto 3 in particular gets through its original rubber quickly. EV-rated replacements plus a Hunter wheel alignment in the same visit is what actually slows the wear down.
Brakes that need exercise. BYD's regen braking means the discs spend most of their life doing nothing, so they corrode. A periodic brake service keeps callipers free and discs clean for the stop that matters.
Suspension. Battery weight works the bushes, links and shocks hard. The first symptom is usually a knock over the speed humps on the school run. Conventional repair, written quote first.
12-volt battery. The classic EV stranding isn't the Blade battery. It's the little 12-volt one. Tested free, replaced same-day.
Logbook servicing. BYD publishes a schedule like everyone else, and following it independently keeps the warranty intact. Book stamped, records kept, without the dealer's pricing.
