Volkswagen Service Melbourne: Logbook, DSG & Timing Belts

Volkswagen service in Melbourne without the dealer markup. We’re an owner-operated workshop in Knoxfield, and we service VWs to the factory schedule, stamp your logbook and use approved parts and fluids, so your warranty’s safe. Golf, Polo, Tiguan, Amarok, the lot.

What’s in a VW logbook service

Oil and a genuine-spec filter, fluid checks and changes as they fall due, brakes measured, filters swapped on schedule, a full diagnostic scan and the service light reset. You’ll get a plain-English report and a stamp in the book.

DSG service: don’t skip it

The DSG gearbox is brilliant when it’s looked after and a nightmare when it isn’t. The fluid is a service item, not a lifetime fill, and it wants changing around every 60,000 km. Leave it too long and you’re gambling with the mechatronic unit, which costs thousands to replace. We do DSG fluid and filter services with the correct VW-approved oil.

Timing belts and water pumps

Most VW engines are interference designs, which is the polite way of saying that if the timing belt lets go, the engine can destroy itself. VW’s guide is roughly every 105,000 km or 6 years, whichever comes first. We replace the belt, tensioner and usually the water pump together, because they wear at a similar rate and it saves you paying the labour twice.

Independent, and warranty-safe

Australian Consumer Law lets you service your VW at any qualified workshop without losing your new-car warranty, provided the logbook is followed and approved parts go in. We stamp the book and keep the records.

Booking your logbook service with us keeps your car on schedule and your warranty safe. We also handle brakes, suspension and the full European car servicing menu under one roof, including Audi (same DSG know-how), BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Porsche. Buying used? Grab a pre-purchase inspection first. Call the Knoxfield workshop on (03) 9763 0100, or drop in for a straight answer and a quote before we touch anything.
